The congregation of Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate was founded on 25th January 1816 by St.Eugene De Mazenod in Aix-en-Provence, France.

“He has sent me to preach the good news to the poor” is the charism of the congregation adopted by the founder St.Eugene.

The primary purpose of the Oblates is TO BRING THE GOOD NEWS to “those people whose condition cries out for salvation” (Constitution no. 5).

As St. Eugene De Mazenod envisaged the oblates were ready to go to the nook and corners of the world to preach the good news to the poor. Their tremendous sacrifice has helped the church for 200 years in the evangelizing human kind. Today the Oblates are working as missionaries around 69 countries involving in various ministries.
